The Veiled Chameleon (Chamaeleo calyptratus) is a fascinating and widely recognized reptile in the pet trade. Known for their stunning colors and unique casque-like protrusions on their heads, these chameleons captivate reptile enthusiasts worldwide.
Veiled Chameleons are native to the Arabian Peninsula, specifically Yemen and Saudi Arabia. They inhabit various environments, including mountainous regions, valleys, and even semi-arid areas, demonstrating their adaptability. These chameleons are arboreal, spending all their time in trees and shrubs, where their zygodactylous feet and prehensile tails provide excellent grip.
Here at Nealon Reptiles, we keep a small breeding group of Veiled Chameleons. Our Veiled Chameleons are F1 or F2 generations from different wild-caught pairs. While we don’t breed them too often, when we do, they always end up being amazing Chameleons!
